Ahh to Sleep...

So most of you who have had children are probably going to either hate me or be jealous (but really I have no control over the situation) - last night miss Madie slept until 5 am!!!! And its not like she was up until midnight...she went to bed sometime between 9 and 9:30. I am very excited and hope this trend continues. Other than that not much is new. She is starting to lose some hair on the left side of her head, but it is still pretty thick in the back so I don't think it is all going to fall out (at least I hope it doesn't!) Here are some fairly recent pictures of her for everyone to enjoy :)

One Month

My baby is four weeks old today and will be one month old on Sunday! I can't believe how quickly the time is going by. She just gets cuter and cuter each day. We discovered the other day that Madie likes being read to. I'm not sure if she likes looking at the books or just the fact that she is being talked to when we read but either way she seems to enjoy it. She is doing really well at night. For the last few nights she has slept for about 6 hours before waking to eat. I won't complain if this is something she decides to continue doing :) Madie will now follow an object that is moved from side to side above her face. It is kind of cute to watch. She also rolled over for the first time yesterday, although I'm pretty sure it was a fluke. I had her on the couch near the seam of the coushins and I think once she rolled to her side (which she does regularly) the coushin was slanted and so she just kept going.
The only other update I can think of is that Zach is now working four 10 hour days so through the summer he will have Fridays off. We are very excited!

Two Weeks

Madison is now two weeks old. She is as cute as ever and now has a belly button! Ok, so she had the belly button the whole time, her cord is just no longer there to cover it up. Things are going well for all three of us, Madie has been a great baby so far and made adjusting pretty easy. Her next drs appt is tomorrow so we'll find out how much she has grown since last week and update you all then! :)

Weigh In...

Madie had her drs appt yesterday and at 8 days old she passed her birth weight. She is now 9 pounds and 1 ounce. All is going well... knock on wood. I couldn't have asked for a better baby! She is usually pretty calm and happy, except when bath time rolls around. I just keep telling myself that she will eventually get used to it, but since that is pretty much the only time she screams I can't really complain.
Well Madie is done eating so I'm going back to bed. :)

She's Here!!!

Our little princess was born on Thursday morning at 5:10. She weighs 9 pounds and is 21 inches long.

No Room at the Inn

At 5:30 this morning when I got a call from the hospital that they didn't have any room for me to come in for my scheduled induction I wondered if that is kind of how Mary the mother of Jesus felt when they were turned away from the inns.
It is a very depressing feeling...
Seeing as how I am already a week overdue, hopefully it won't be very much longer before they have a bed available. To those of you who go into labor on your own...count your blessings. Needless to say, it has been a very long week. I know it will all be worth it in the end, but it is king of hard to not have tunnel vision at this point.
